Grey hair inhabited that cramped space alone,
Begging every passerby for nickel and dime.
It wanted only but a dye,
It wanted to turn dark from white.
They wondered, I wondered,
Where lies grey hair's shaft?
Why can't grey hair turn dark from its shaft?
Why from grey hair its shafts does hide?
Surely every grey hair has a shaft?
Lest it die a lonely whitish grey hair.
But alas! Grey hair did die lonely and whitish,
Inhabiting its lonely confinement.
Its demise birthed myriads of shafts,
All the shafts it needed to stay dark,
And murder isolation.
They drove in in droves,
They came with drums of dyes,
All shade of dyes
For grey hair who has died.
They've infested gray hairs' abode,
If only they were around to keep it dark,
If only they came earlier to murder loneliness.
